The crest of BB Erzurumspor has evolved alongside the club's rapid rise through Turkish football, while consistently reflecting the identity of the city of Erzurum. Throughout its history, the club has retained its traditional blue and white colours, symbolising the snowy mountains and clear skies of eastern Anatolia.
The club's first crest, used between 2005 and 2014, featured a modern shield incorporating a stylised double minaret, inspired by the famous Çifte Minareli Medrese, one of Erzurum's most recognisable landmarks. A football at the base of the design and the founding year 2005 highlighted the club's ambitions as a new representative of the city.
In 2014, following promotion through the Turkish football pyramid, the club adopted a new crest featuring a large white eagle's head set against a blue shield. The eagle symbolised strength, courage and determination, while the football at the bottom of the badge reinforced the club's sporting identity. This emblem became closely associated with Erzurumspor's first promotion to the Süper Lig.
After the club shortened its official name to Erzurumspor FK in 2022, the crest was updated accordingly. The overall design remained largely unchanged, with the eagle continuing to dominate the shield while the new club name appeared across the top.
In 2025, Erzurumspor introduced a completely redesigned badge inspired by the city's historic heritage. The new crest features a gold double-headed Seljuk eagle, an important symbol in Anatolian history, set against a blue-and-white shield displaying the words "Erzurumspor FK." The redesign connects the club more closely to the rich cultural history of Erzurum while maintaining its traditional colours.
BB Erzurumspor Club History
Founded in 2005, BB Erzurumspor, now officially known as Erzurumspor FK, is one of Turkey's youngest professional football clubs. Established by the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, the club was created to restore top-level football to the city after the financial collapse of the historic Erzurumspor, which had represented the region for decades before being dissolved. Wearing its traditional blue and white colours, the club is affectionately known as "Dadaşlar", a nickname referring to the proud and courageous people of Erzurum.
Beginning in the amateur leagues, Erzurumspor FK experienced one of the fastest rises in Turkish football. Through consecutive promotions, the club climbed into the professional divisions and reached the TFF First League in 2017. Just one year later, the club achieved its greatest success by earning promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig for the first time after winning the promotion play-offs in 2018.
Although the club's first Süper Lig campaign ended in relegation, Erzurumspor quickly returned to the top flight for the 2020–21 season. Despite showing resilience and attracting several experienced domestic and international players, the club was again relegated after one season. Since then, Erzurumspor has remained a competitive side in the TFF First League, regularly challenging for promotion back to the Süper Lig.
In 2022, the club officially changed its name from Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor to Erzurumspor FK, reflecting a broader identity beyond its municipal origins. The rebranding strengthened the club's connection with the city and its supporters while marking a new chapter in its development.
The club's principal rivalry is with BB Erzincanspor, reflecting the historic competition between the neighbouring cities of Erzurum and Erzincan in eastern Anatolia. Matches against Samsunspor, Çaykur Rizespor, and Trabzonspor have also gained importance due to regional connections and frequent encounters in recent seasons.
