Paris 13 Atletico Crest History

The original crest of FC Gobelins, introduced in 1968, reflected the club's identity as a local community football team in Paris's 13th arrondissement. The badge took the form of a traditional shield divided into white, green, and black, colours that became synonymous with the club. At its centre was a classic football containing the intertwined initials FCG (Football Club des Gobelins), while the club's name appeared across the top and 1968, the founding year, was displayed at the base. The design emphasised the club's roots in the historic Gobelins district of Paris and remained virtually unchanged for more than fifty years. In 2020, following the club's rebranding as Paris 13 Atletico, a completely new crest was unveiled to mark a new chapter in its history. The traditional shield was replaced by a modern circular badge with a bold black background and bright neon green trim. At its centre sits a stylised representation of the Eiffel Tower, symbolising both Paris and the club's ambition to represent the capital beyond the city's largest clubs. The years 19 and 68 flank the central design, preserving the club's founding date of 1968, while the words "Paris Atletico" surround the badge. The new identity retained the club's historic green and black colours while presenting a more contemporary and professional image as it established itself under its new name in the French football pyramid. The redesign reflected the club's desire to strengthen its Parisian identity while honouring its origins as FC Gobelins.

Paris 13 Atletico Club History

Founded on 17 February 1968 as Football Club des Gobelins, Paris 13 Atletico was established by a group of young football enthusiasts from the Jean Lurçat Technical High School on Avenue des Gobelins in Paris's 13th arrondissement. The club took its name from the historic Gobelins district, an area famous for the Manufacture des Gobelins, and initially operated as a modest neighbourhood football club. It affiliated with the French Football Federation (FFF) in 1969 and spent many years competing in the lower regional divisions.

The club's fortunes changed dramatically during the late 2000s under the leadership of president Frédéric Pereira, sporting director Henrique Marques, and technical director Namori Keita. A remarkable period of success saw FC Gobelins achieve multiple promotions through the regional leagues. In 2012, the club merged with Stade Olympique de Paris, becoming Football Club des Gobelins Paris 13. The merger significantly increased the club's membership, coaching staff, and youth structure, transforming it into one of the largest amateur football clubs in France.

The club continued its rapid rise through the French football pyramid during the 2010s. It earned promotion to National 3 in 2017 before winning the division in 2018–19, securing a historic place in National 2 for the first time. At the same time, the youth academy gained an excellent reputation, producing players who moved on to professional academies and helping the club receive the FFF Elite Youth Label, the highest recognition awarded by the French Football Federation.

In 2020, the club adopted the name Paris 13 Atletico and introduced a new identity designed to strengthen its Parisian profile while preserving its roots in the 13th arrondissement. Although the club changed its name and crest, it retained its traditional green and black colours and the nickname Les Gobelins. The rebranding reflected the ambition to establish itself as a prominent football club within the French capital.

The club reached another historic milestone in 2022 by winning promotion to the Championnat National, the third tier of French football, for the first time in its history. Although relegation followed after one season, Paris 13 Atletico immediately rebuilt and secured promotion back to the National, underlining the steady progress made over the previous decade. 

Unlike many established French clubs, Paris 13 Atletico does not have an officially recognized or long-standing rivalry. The club spent most of its history in the regional and amateur divisions as FC Gobelins, only reaching the national leagues in recent years, so no historic derby has developed.
