The Ground

Pittodrie Stadium, located close to the North Sea in Aberdeen, has been the home of Aberdeen F.C. since 1903. One of Scotland’s most historic and iconic grounds, it holds a special place in British football history as the first all-seater stadium in the UK, a pioneering development that influenced stadium design nationwide.

With a capacity of just over 20,000, Pittodrie is a fully enclosed, four-stand stadium that keeps supporters close to the pitch. The Richard Donald Stand is the most modern and prominent structure, offering excellent views, while the Merkland, South, and Main Stands retain elements of the ground’s traditional character.

Its seaside location means that coastal winds can occasionally play a role, adding to the uniqueness of the matchday experience. The atmosphere, driven by the passionate “Red Army,” is at its best during big domestic clashes and European nights, when Pittodrie becomes one of the most intense venues in Scotland.
