The Ground

  • The City Ground, sitting proudly on the banks of the River Trent, has been the home of Nottingham Forest Football Club since 1898. Situated just south of Nottingham city centre, the stadium is steeped in history, having hosted countless memorable matches—including Forest’s domestic triumphs and their European Cup-winning era under Brian Clough in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

  • With a current capacity of around 30,445, the City Ground is an all-seater stadium that manages to blend modern facilities with a strong sense of tradition. The stands are close to the pitch, ensuring an intense matchday atmosphere, especially when the crowd is in full voice for big Premier League fixtures.

  • The stadium is made up of four distinctive stands: Trent End – An impressive, steeply tiered stand behind one goal, home to some of the most vocal Forest fans. Brian Clough Stand – Named after the club’s legendary manager, this main stand houses hospitality areas, the players’ tunnel, dugouts, and executive boxes. Bridgford Stand – Shared between home supporters and the away section, offering excellent views over the pitch and the River Trent beyond. Peter Taylor Stand – Renamed in honour of Clough’s trusted assistant, this side stand has a mix of seating for families and general admission.

  • The City Ground enjoys one of the most picturesque settings in English football. It sits opposite Notts County’s Meadow Lane Stadium—separated only by the River Trent—and is also within walking distance of Trent Bridge cricket ground. The location means fans have plenty of nearby pubs, restaurants, and transport links. Nottingham Railway Station is about a 20-minute walk away, while the stadium is well served by local buses and park-and-ride services..
