SC Aubagne Air-Bel Crest History
The first modern crest associated with Aubagne Football Club, used from 2010 to 2020, featured a traditional yellow shield with a blue lower section, reflecting the club's long-standing colours. A football occupied the upper-right corner, while the words "Aubagne Football Club" appeared diagonally across the centre in white and red lettering. The design presented a classic amateur football identity and accompanied the club during its rise through the regional divisions.
In 2020, the club introduced a more contemporary visual identity. The new badge adopted a banner-shaped shield in navy blue, bordered by yellow-and-blue stripes. At its centre stood a large yellow "A", representing Aubagne, accompanied by the white initials FC. Above the letter appeared the silhouette of the Garlaban massif, the mountain range overlooking Aubagne and closely associated with the works of Marcel Pagnol. The inscription "Depuis 1989" ("Since 1989") highlighted the club's founding year and reinforced its local identity.
A subtle update followed in 2022. The overall design remained unchanged, but the letter "O" in FC was transformed into a football, giving the crest a stronger football identity while retaining the mountain silhouette, colours, and "Depuis 1989" inscription. This version accompanied the club during its successful climb towards the national divisions.
Following the 2025 merger between Football Club Aubagne and SC Air Bel, the club adopted the name Sporting Club Aubagne Air Bel (SCAAB) and unveiled a completely new crest. The modern shield features the intertwined initials S and C in navy blue, with a football integrated into the design to represent the club's sporting identity. The simplified blue-and-gold colour scheme preserves the traditional colours of both clubs while symbolising unity following the merger.

Sporting Club Aubagne Air Bel (SCAAB) traces its origins to 1989, when Football Club Aubagne was formed through the merger of SO Charrel and Ambrosiana Sport, two clubs based in the town of Aubagne, just east of Marseille. The merger created a single club capable of representing the city at a higher level while placing a strong emphasis on youth development and community football.
For much of its history, Aubagne competed in the regional leagues of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, steadily building its reputation through consistent performances and one of the strongest youth academies in the region. The club gradually climbed the French football pyramid, earning promotion to the Championnat National 3 before continuing its rise into National 2, where it established itself as one of the division's most competitive clubs.
A defining moment came during the 2023–24 season, when Aubagne won its National 2 group, securing promotion to the Championnat National (France's third tier) for the first time in the club's history. The achievement marked the arrival of professional-level football in Aubagne and represented the greatest sporting success since the club's formation.
In 2025, Aubagne entered a new chapter by merging with Sporting Club Air Bel, one of France's most respected youth development clubs based in Marseille. The merger created Sporting Club Aubagne Air Bel (SCAAB), combining Aubagne's successful senior team with Air Bel's renowned academy. The objective was to establish a stronger football institution capable of competing sustainably at the national level while continuing to develop young talent from the Marseille metropolitan area.
Playing at the Stade de Lattre de Tassigny, SC Aubagne Air Bel continues to represent the city of Aubagne while benefiting from Air Bel's long tradition of player development. The club has become known for its attractive football, ambitious sporting project, and commitment to nurturing local talent, making it one of the fastest-rising clubs in southern France.
Although SCAAB is still a relatively young club in its current form, regional matches against Marignane Gignac Côte Bleue FC, Hyères FC, and clubs from the Marseille metropolitan area have developed into competitive local fixtures.
