The Ground

East End Park, located in the heart of Dunfermline, has been the home of Dunfermline Athletic F.C. since 1885. One of the more historic grounds in Scottish football, it blends traditional character with modern redevelopment, reflecting the club’s long-standing place in the national game. With a capacity of around 11,000, it is significantly larger than many lower-league venues, giving it a sense of scale while still retaining an intimate feel.

The stadium is fully seated, with four distinct stands forming a compact bowl close to the pitch. The Main Stand, dating back to 1962, remains the architectural centrepiece, while the more modern North and East Stands provide the bulk of seating. The Norrie McCathie Stand, behind one goal, is home to the most vocal supporters, generating the atmosphere that defines matchdays in Dunfermline.

Before and After the Match

  • The Elizabethan (Halbeath Road). Just a short walk from the ground, this is one of the busiest matchday pubs. A mix of home and away fans gather here, creating a lively and sociable environment.

  • The Guildhall & Linen Exchange (High Street). A large and popular Wetherspoons in the town centre, ideal for a budget-friendly pint before heading to the match. Often busy but spacious enough for groups.

  • The Commercial Inn (Commercial Street). A more traditional pub offering a quieter pre-match option, known for its ales and relaxed setting.

  • The Seven Kings (Carnegie Drive). A modern sports bar-style pub located a short walk from East End Park. With multiple screens showing live football, food deals, and plenty of seating, it’s a popular choice for groups and those looking for a lively build-up to kick-off.

  • East Port Bar (East Port). A traditional pub closer to the stadium than most town-centre options. Friendly and straightforward, it attracts a mix of locals and supporters, making it a solid stop on the walk to the ground.

  • The Old Inn (Kirkgate). One of Dunfermline’s oldest pubs, offering a classic setting with a relaxed atmosphere. A good option for those wanting a quieter pre-match drink away from the busiest spots.

  • Monty’s Bar (Bruce Street). A well-known local bar with a loyal crowd and regular football following. Expect a sociable atmosphere and plenty of match discussion before heading up to East End Park.

  • The Ball Room Sports Bar (Canmore Street). A modern venue with pool tables, large screens, and a lively feel. Popular with younger supporters and groups, it’s a good place to make more of a day out before the match.

  • PJ Molloys (Canmore Street). A well-regarded bar known for its wide range of drinks and occasional live music. It offers a slightly more relaxed vibe pre-match, but still draws in football fans on game days.
