Ground: Gayfied Park

Capacity: 6,600

Location: Gayfield Park, Arbroath

Country: Scotland, United Kingdom

The Ground

Gayfield Park, located right on the North Sea coast, has been the home of Arbroath F.C. since 1880. It is one of the oldest football grounds in the world still in use and is widely regarded as one of the most unique stadiums in Britain.

Famous for its seaside setting, Gayfield sits just metres from the shoreline, meaning strong coastal winds often play a major role in matches. This gives the ground a distinctive identity, one where conditions can be as much a factor as tactics.

The stadium is a mix of seating and terracing, with the Main Stand providing covered seating and the rest of the ground retaining a traditional feel. The terraces behind the goals and along the sides bring supporters close to the pitch, creating a raw, atmospheric experience that reflects the club’s working-class roots.
