Bayer 04 Leverkusen Ground & Tickets

Ground: BayArena

Capacity: 30,210

Location: Bismarckstraße 122–124, Leverkusen

Country: Germany

The Ground

  • The BayArena is the home of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and it has been the club’s home since 1958, although the ground has been completely transformed over the decades from the old Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion into the modern arena used today.

  • With a capacity of around 30,210, the BayArena is smaller than many Bundesliga stadiums, but this gives it a compact and intense atmosphere. The stands are close to the pitch, creating excellent sightlines and a strong connection between supporters and players.

  • One of the BayArena’s most recognisable features is its large circular roof structure, which gives the stadium a unique appearance from both inside and outside. The roof covers every seat and creates a bright, modern feel while protecting supporters from the weather. Unlike many older German grounds, the BayArena was designed purely for football, with no athletics track separating fans from the pitch.

  • Another distinctive element is its close connection to the Bayer Cross and the club’s factory-team identity. The stadium sits near the Bayer company’s historic base, reflecting the club’s origins as a works team. The arena also includes modern hospitality areas, the club’s official shop, fan facilities and the BayArena Tour, allowing visitors to explore the dressing rooms, players’ tunnel, pitchside areas and media zones.

  • The BayArena has hosted major international fixtures, including matches at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, as well as Germany national team matches.

Official Tickets

  • Buy through the official online Bayer 04 Leverkusen Ticket Shop. Bayer 04 sells match tickets exclusively through its online ticketing platform for general supporters, with only limited exceptions for specific customer groups.

  • Tickets are usually released in phases. Club members receive priority access before tickets go on general sale, giving them the best chance of securing seats for high-demand Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA matches. While membership does not guarantee a ticket, it significantly improves your chances of attending the club's biggest fixtures.

  • For popular matches, particularly against 1. FC Köln, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, or major European opponents, tickets often sell out quickly. Purchasing as soon as sales open is highly recommended, while less popular fixtures may remain available until closer to matchday.

  • If a home match is sold out, Bayer 04 Leverkusen operates an official Ticket Exchange (Ticketbörse) where season ticket holders can legally resell their seats. This is the club's only authorised resale platform and the safest way to purchase resale tickets.

This is the quickest and most convenient option for travelling by car.
