The Ground

  • SToK Cae Ras, located in the heart of Wrexham, North Wales, has been the home of Wrexham Association Football Club since 1864. As the world’s oldest international football stadium still in use, it stands as a living monument to the game’s history, blending traditional character with ongoing modernisation to meet the demands of 21st-century football.

  • The stadium, more widely known in English as the Racecourse Ground, has hosted Wrexham AFC for over a century and a half, as well as numerous Welsh international fixtures. While its historic Mold Road Stand retains the charm of classic British football architecture, recent developments — including new hospitality areas, updated facilities, and the planned redevelopment of the Kop Stand — reflect the club’s renewed ambitions under its current ownership. The design maintains a mix of all-seater and standing sections, offering close-up views and an atmosphere that has become famous around the football world.

  • Today, the SToK Cae Ras is owned and operated by Wrexham AFC and has a current capacity of around 10,500. Redevelopment of the Kop End is set to increase capacity and further enhance matchday facilities, ensuring the stadium remains fit for both domestic competition and potential international events.

  • Situated close to Wrexham city centre, the ground is easily accessible by rail, road, and on foot, with Wrexham General railway station directly adjacent to the stadium. This prime location, combined with nearby pubs, restaurants, and hotels, makes it a vibrant hub on matchdays.
