The Ground
Loftus Road, located in White City, West London, has been the home of Queens Park Rangers (QPR) since 1917. Originally opened in 1904, the ground was first used by Shepherd’s Bush FC before QPR took permanent residence, having previously played at various locations around West London.
Today, Loftus Road remains fully owned and operated by Queens Park Rangers. Known for its compact, intimate setting, the stadium has become a much-loved part of West London football culture, offering one of the closest pitch-to-stand experiences in English football.
With a current seating capacity of approximately 18,439, Loftus Road is one of the smallest stadiums in the Championship, yet it generates an intense and passionate matchday atmosphere. Its record attendance stands at 35,353, set in 1974 for a match against Leeds United, before modern safety regulations reduced capacity.
Architecturally, Loftus Road reflects a century of evolution. The tight, steep stands sit close to the pitch, creating excellent sightlines and a uniquely intense atmosphere. Major redevelopments in the 1980s modernized the ground into an all-seater stadium, including the addition of floodlights and the extension of the stands into their current form. While modern by safety standards, Loftus Road retains its old-school charm, offering supporters one of the most personal and atmospheric experiences in London football.
Official Tickets
QPR Membership. An official QPR Membership is strongly recommended for priority access to match tickets, especially for London derbies, high-profile Championship fixtures, or cup games. For many regular league matches at Loftus Road, tickets often reach general sale, but popular fixtures may sell out during the members-only period.
QPR Ticket Exchange (Resale Platform). QPR operates a limited Official Ticket Exchange (available to season ticket holders), allowing them to return tickets for resale via the club if they are unable to attend. Returned tickets are resold at face value and offered back to members and then the general public if available.
Book as Early as Possible. Tickets for regular Championship matches typically go on sale several weeks before the game. High-profile matches may sell out during the members’ priority window. Sign up for QPR's email alerts and monitor the fixture list carefully.
Hospitality Packages Guarantee Access. If you're planning a special trip or visiting during a sold-out game, consider QPR’s hospitality packages. These include premium seats, lounge access, food, and drinks — and typically remain available longer than regular match tickets
