Ground: Kassam Stadium

Capacity: 12,500

Location: Grenoble Road, Oxford

Country: United Kingdom

The Ground

  • The Kassam Stadium, located on Grenoble Road in Oxford, has served as the home of Oxford United FC since 2001, following the club’s departure from the historic Manor Ground. It is situated on the southern edge of the city near the Oxford Science Park.

  • The ground is owned by the Firoka Group, with the club operating as a tenant. It is named after Firoz Kassam, the businessman who financed its construction after years of uncertainty and planning delays in the late 1990s.

  • With a capacity of around 12,500, the Kassam Stadium offers a clean, modern football environment. The East Stand houses some of the club’s most vocal supporters, while away fans are typically placed in the North Stand, opposite the stadium’s most distinctive feature—its open west end, which remains undeveloped. The record attendance stands at just over 12,000, set during a league match against Aston Villa in 2002.

  • The stadium features three completed stands: the large, two-tiered South Stand which includes hospitality boxes, club offices, and the family area; the East Stand, popular with home supporters; and the North Stand, which is shared by home and away fans on matchdays. Though designed for future expansion, the open west end remains a notable quirk of the stadium’s layout.
