The Ground
LNER Stadium, traditionally known as Sincil Bank, is located just south of Lincoln city centre. Overlooking the city and the majestic Lincoln Cathedral, it has been Lincoln City Football Club’s home since 1895—making it one of the oldest continuously used league grounds in English football
Originally opened in the late 19th century, Sincil Bank has evolved through multiple redevelopment phases, with its most significant changes occurring between the late 1980s and 1990s, culminating in a fully all-seater layout by 1999. The stadium currently operates under the sponsored name LNER Stadium, reflecting a partnership with London North Eastern Railway, yet most long-standing fans still affectionately call it by its historic name.
The ground has an all-seated capacity of around 10,600, arranged across four main stands. The GBM Stand dominates the west side, providing the bulk of the seating and housing hospitality areas, while the Stacey West Stand at the north end is shared between home and away fans depending on demand. The SRP Stand on the east side incorporates the press box and executive facilities, and the smaller South Park End completes the layout, offering a more intimate matchday experience.
Set within a short walk of Lincoln Central railway station, the stadium benefits from excellent accessibility for both home and visiting supporters. Its location near the city centre means fans can enjoy Lincoln’s historic streets, shops, and pubs before and after games, with the iconic Cathedral visible from parts of the ground.
