The Ground

  • Blundell Park, located in the seaside town of Cleethorpes, has been the home of Grimsby Town Football Club since 1899, making it one of the oldest football grounds still in use in England. For over a century, generations of Mariners supporters have flocked to this traditional ground, which has witnessed promotions, relegations, FA Cup runs, and the club’s enduring place in the fabric of English football.

  • With a capacity of around 9,000, Blundell Park is modest by modern standards but renowned for its character and atmosphere. The ground’s four stands each bring their own identity: the Main Stand houses hospitality and the dugouts, while the Pontoon Stand is the beating heart of home support, where the loudest Mariners fans drive the team on. The Osmond Stand usually accommodates away fans, while the Findus Stand provides additional seating and a sweeping view of the pitch. Together, these stands make Blundell Park one of the most traditional and atmospheric lower-league stadiums in the country.

  • Though Blundell Park has not seen the large-scale redevelopment of newer grounds, it has been updated across the years to improve facilities and safety, all while retaining its old-school football charm. For many, that authenticity is what makes it special: a stadium where supporters are right on top of the action, close enough to feel every tackle, cheer, and setback.

  • Situated just a short walk from Cleethorpes seafront, the stadium is uniquely placed in English football. Fans can combine a matchday with a stroll along the beach, fish and chips on the promenade, or a pint in one of the many pubs surrounding the ground. By car or train, it remains accessible for both home and away supporters, with Cleethorpes Railway Station less than a mile away.
