The Ground
Priestfield Stadium, located in Gillingham, Kent, has served as the home of Gillingham FC since the club was founded in 1893. Nestled within a residential area close to the town centre, the stadium has long been a key landmark for both the club and its supporters.
Owned and operated by the club itself, Priestfield remains central to Gillingham’s identity. While primarily used for football, the ground has also hosted other sporting events and community functions over the years.
With a current capacity of 11,582, Priestfield offers a classic lower-league football experience, where the atmosphere is shaped by passionate home support, particularly in the Rainham End. The stadium’s all-time attendance record of 23,002 was set in 1948 during an FA Cup tie against Queens Park Rangers, although modern safety regulations have since reduced the capacity.
The stadium has seen several phases of redevelopment, most notably in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It consists of four stands, with the Medway Stand being the most prominent
