The Ground
St Mirren Park, nestled on the western edge of Paisley, is the proud modern home of St Mirren Football Club. Opened in 2009, the stadium represents a new chapter for a club steeped in tradition, blending contemporary design with the deep-rooted identity of the Buddies. Though younger than many of Scotland’s historic grounds, St Mirren Park has quickly established itself as a place where community spirit, resilience, and passion come together on matchdays.
With a capacity of just over 8,000, the stadium offers an intimate footballing experience that keeps supporters close to the action. Its four compact stands form a tight, enclosed arena that helps generate atmosphere well beyond what its size might suggest. The simplicity and functionality of the design place the focus firmly where it belongs: on the pitch and on the bond between team and supporters. From every seat, sightlines are clear, and the roar of the crowd carries sharply across the playing surface.
On matchdays, St Mirren Park pulses with black-and-white energy. Flags ripple, scarves are raised high, and familiar chants echo around the ground as the Buddies take the field. There’s a special edge when local rivals come to town, with the noise building in waves that reflect the fierce pride of Paisley’s footballing faithful. Under the floodlights, the stadium takes on an added intensity, proving that atmosphere is about belief and unity as much as scale.
Located a short distance from Paisley town centre, the stadium is easily accessible. Paisley St James railway station is within walking distance, offering direct rail connections to Glasgow and beyond, while regular bus services run along nearby routes. For drivers, the M8 motorway is close at hand, with parking available in the surrounding area.

Before and After the Match
The Last Post (County Square, Paisley). The definitive pre-match pub for St Mirren supporters in the town centre. Spacious, affordable, and always busy on matchdays, The Last Post fills with black-and-white scarves from early doors. Expect football chat, a friendly buzz, and plenty of fans making the short walk or train hop to the ground together.
The Bull Inn (New Sneddon Street). One of Paisley’s best-known traditional pubs and a favourite with older supporters. Just a few minutes from Gilmour Street Station, it’s ideal if you’re arriving by train. Good ales, proper pub atmosphere, and plenty of debate about the starting XI over a pint.
Gabriel’s (Gauze Street). A classic Paisley bar with a loyal local following. Slightly off the main route, which makes it a solid choice if you want a pre-match drink without wall-to-wall crowds. Friendly staff, football on the screens, and a steady stream of Buddies as kick-off approaches.
The Swan Inn (Causeyside Street). A long-standing Paisley institution popular with home fans before and after games. Traditional interior, reasonable prices, and a no-nonsense football pub feel. You’ll hear plenty of St Mirren talk and the odd story from seasons past.
Keg + Brew (Moss Street). A more modern option in the town centre, well liked by groups and younger supporters. Good beer selection, TVs showing the early kick-off, and a lively build-up atmosphere before fans head toward St Mirren Park.
The Bungalow Bar (Shortroods Road). One of the closest pubs to the stadium itself, around a 10-minute walk. Popular with locals and matchgoers looking for a pint near the ground without the town-centre rush. Can get busy close to kick-off, but it’s a convenient and friendly stop.
The SMiSA Social Club (at the stadium). Located at St Mirren Park and run in association with the club, this is the most direct matchday option. Open to supporters, it offers drinks, food, TVs, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Ideal if you’re already parked nearby or want to stay right at the ground before and after the match.
Pendulum Bar & Restaurant (Glasgow Road). A handy choice for those driving in from the M8 or coming from Glasgow. A mix of diners and football fans on matchdays, with food options as well as drinks. Good for groups wanting a sit-down before heading to the stadium.
