The Ground
London Stadium, situated in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, has been the home of West Ham United FC since 2016. Originally constructed as the centerpiece of the 2012 London Olympic Games, the stadium underwent extensive modifications to transform it into a football venue when West Ham secured its long-term tenancy following the Games.
With a seating capacity of approximately 62,500, London Stadium ranks among the largest football venues in England. Its record West Ham attendance exceeds 62,000 for Premier League fixtures, regularly reaching full capacity for major domestic and European nights.
Architecturally, the stadium reflects its Olympic origins while incorporating significant adaptations to meet footballing standards. Extensive redevelopment saw the addition of retractable lower-tier seating to bring fans closer to the pitch, while maintaining the iconic roof structure that remains one of the largest cantilevered roofs in the world. Further enhancements since West Ham’s arrival have continued to evolve the stadium’s character, including improved acoustics, supporter areas, and branding that reflects the club’s heritage.
While distinct from their historic former home at the Boleyn Ground, the London Stadium has developed into a modern footballing arena, combining Premier League capacity with a unique location in East London’s redeveloped Olympic district
Official Tickets
Claret Membership is essential for priority access to match tickets. The club operates several membership tiers (Claret, Claret+ and Academy Membership for juniors), offering priority booking windows before general sale opens. High-demand matches often sell out during the members-only period, especially for top Premier League fixtures or European games.
Ticket Exchange (Official Resale). West Ham operates an official Ticket Exchange for Season Ticket Holders unable to attend. Available tickets are resold at face value via the club’s platform, with access often restricted to members. Availability can be very limited for key fixtures.
General Sale. Tickets occasionally reach General Sale for lower-profile league matches, midweek games, or cup ties, but most fixtures involving major opponents typically sell out to members first. Early booking is strongly advised.
Hospitality & Premium Packages. For sold-out games, West Ham offers hospitality packages directly through the club, including premium seats, access to lounges, pre-match dining, and hosted matchday experiences. These often provide an alternative way to secure tickets for high-demand fixtures.
