The Ground
Swansea.com Stadium, located in the Landore area of Swansea, South Wales, has been the home of Swansea City Football Club since 2005. Replacing the club’s former ground, Vetch Field, which served as their home for over 90 years, the stadium marked a new era for the Swans and football in the city.
Officially opened in July 2005, the stadium was built on the site of a former industrial area as part of a wider urban regeneration project. Designed to modern standards, the move provided Swansea City with significantly improved capacity, facilities, and commercial opportunities. The venue was originally named the Liberty Stadium before being rebranded as the Swansea.com Stadium in 2021 under a sponsorship deal.
Today, the stadium is owned by the City and County of Swansea Council and operated by Swansea City AFC. With a current seating capacity of approximately 21,088, it ranks among the largest stadiums in Wales, regularly hosting both club football and international fixtures, including Wales national team games and rugby events. The South Stand, behind one of the goals, is home to the most vocal supporters, creating a lively atmosphere on matchdays.
