The Ground

  • Meadow Lane, located just south of Nottingham city centre and across the River Trent from Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, has been the home of Notts County Football Club since 1910. As one of the oldest professional clubs in the world, Notts County’s ground carries more than a century of football heritage, combining tradition with steady modern upgrades.

  • With a current capacity of around 18,816, Meadow Lane is an all-seater stadium that offers an intimate yet lively matchday experience. The stands are close to the pitch, creating a strong connection between players and supporters, and the noise from the home crowd—particularly during big games—can be intense despite the stadium’s modest size.

  • The stadium consists of four main stands: Kop Stand (North Stand) – Traditionally home to the most vocal Notts County fans, creating much of the matchday atmosphere. Jimmy Sirrel Stand – Named after the club’s legendary manager, it runs along the west side of the ground and houses hospitality suites and the dugouts. Haydn Green Family Stand – A family-friendly section with a more relaxed environment, ideal for younger fans. Jimmy Sirrel Stand Away Section / County Road Stand – Often where visiting supporters are housed, offering good views from the east side of the pitch.

  • Meadow Lane’s location makes it one of the most accessible stadiums in the English Football League. Nottingham Railway Station is only a 10–15 minute walk away, and the ground is well-served by local buses and trams. For drivers, there are several pay-and-display car parks nearby, as well as park-and-ride options on matchdays. Its proximity to the River Trent and the city’s pub scene also makes it a popular day out for away supporters.
