Ground: The New Den

Capacity: 20,146

Location: John Berylson Way, London

Country: United Kingdom

The Ground

  • The New Den, located in Bermondsey, South East London, has been the home of Millwall FC since its opening in 1993. Replacing the club’s historic previous home at the original Den in New Cross, The New Den was the first all-seater stadium built in England following the Taylor Report, setting a new standard for safety and modern design in British football grounds.

  • Today, The New Den remains fully owned by Millwall FC, sitting less than a mile from the site of their former ground. The stadium continues to serve as a central hub for the club’s famously passionate and loyal supporters, while retaining its strong East London identity.

  • With a current capacity of approximately 20,146, The New Den offers one of the most intimate and atmospheric experiences in English football. Its record attendance at the new ground stands at 20,093, set during an FA Cup tie against Chelsea in 1995.

  • Architecturally, The New Den was designed as a functional, compact all-seater stadium with four steep-sided stands placed close to the pitch, enhancing both sightlines and crowd atmosphere. While the ground lacks some of the ornate features seen in older stadiums, its no-frills, intimidating design reflects Millwall’s proud working-class roots.

Official Tickets

  • Get a Millwall Membership. A Millwall Membership is strongly recommended. Membership offers early access to tickets before they reach general sale, plus loyalty points for future purchases.

  • Account Registration Beforehand Make sure you create your Millwall ticketing account well in advance of tickets going on sale. You’ll need this for both membership and general ticket purchases.

  •  Monitor On-Sale Dates Carefully. Tickets typically go on sale around 4–8 weeks before the match, depending on the fixture. The biggest games often sell out quickly in the members-only window. Keep an eye on the Millwall website and sign up for email alerts to track sale dates.

  • Hospitality as a Backup Option. If regular tickets sell out, consider hospitality packages. Millwall’s hospitality options include premium seats, pre-match meals, and lounge access and often have availability even when standard tickets are sold out.

  • Consider Midweek or Lower-Demand Fixtures. Midweek fixtures or lower-table opponents often have good availability, even without membership.
