The crest history of FC Inhulets Petrove reflects the club’s transformation from a locally sponsored amateur team into a professional football club with a strong identity inspired by Ukrainian Cossack heritage. Since its foundation in 2013, the club has used three notably different designs.
Between 2013 and 2015, the club competed under its original name, FC Ahrofirma Pyatykhatska. Its first crest was a circular green-and-white emblem dominated by the large Cyrillic letters “ФК” (FC). Agricultural imagery, including ears of wheat, surrounded the centre and reflected the club's origins and its connection with the agricultural company that supported its creation. Footballs appeared on either side, while 2013 marked the year of foundation.
In 2015, the club was renamed FC Inhulets, taking its identity from the Inhulets River and the local area. A completely new and much more colourful crest accompanied the change.
The 2015–2017 badge featured a traditional shield containing a stylised landscape. A blue river crossed green fields, directly representing the Inhulets River and the rural surroundings of Petrove. A football appeared in the lower section, while wheat continued to reference the club's agricultural roots. The Ukrainian Tryzub was incorporated near the top alongside additional regional imagery, strengthening the club's Ukrainian identity.
Another major redesign followed in 2017. The colourful landscape crest was replaced by a much stronger and simpler red-and-gold shield centred around the figure of a Ukrainian Cossack.
The Cossack is depicted holding a long spear, creating an image of strength, determination and fighting spirit. The Cyrillic club name “ІНГУЛЕЦЬ” dominates the lower section, while 2013 remains underneath as a reminder of the club's foundation.
The initials “ФК” appear in the upper corners of the shield. Red and gold became the dominant colours, giving Inhulets a much more distinctive identity than the agricultural and landscape-based badges used during its earliest years.
The transition between the three crests closely mirrors the development of the club itself: from Ahrofirma Pyatykhatska and its agricultural origins, through the establishment of the Inhulets name, to a modern identity built around the powerful symbolism of the Ukrainian Cossack.
FC Ihulets Petrove Club History
Founded in 2013, FC Inhulets Petrove is a Ukrainian football club from the small settlement of Petrove in Kirovohrad Oblast. Despite coming from one of the smallest communities to have been represented in Ukraine's professional leagues, Inhulets rose rapidly through the football pyramid and eventually reached the Ukrainian Premier League.
The club was originally established as FC Ahrofirma Pyatykhatska, named after the agricultural company that supported its creation. During its first years, the team competed at amateur level and quickly became one of the stronger sides in regional and national amateur football.
In 2015, the club entered the professional game and was renamed FC Inhulets, taking its new identity from the Inhulets River, which flows through the region. The change marked the beginning of a rapid climb through Ukraine's professional divisions.
Inhulets initially competed in the Ukrainian Second League, the third level of the national football system. Strong performances soon earned the club promotion to the Ukrainian First League, where it established itself as an ambitious challenger despite representing a relatively small population centre.
The club achieved national recognition during the 2018–19 Ukrainian Cup. Inhulets produced a remarkable run through the competition and reached the final while still playing in the second tier. This made the club the first second-tier team to reach a Ukrainian Cup final.
In the final, played in Zaporizhzhia, Inhulets faced Shakhtar Donetsk, the dominant force in Ukrainian football at the time. Shakhtar won 4–0, but simply reaching the final represented one of the greatest achievements in Inhulets' history and brought nationwide attention to the small club from Petrove.
Another historic milestone followed in 2020, when Inhulets earned promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League for the first time. The club subsequently competed against Ukraine's leading teams, including Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, completing an extraordinary journey from amateur football to the country's highest division in only a few years.
Inhulets' subsequent history has included both relegation and promotion. After dropping from the Premier League in 2023, the club responded strongly and won the 2023–24 Ukrainian First League, securing an immediate return to the top flight.
The club's development has also been affected by the enormous difficulties facing Ukrainian football following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Despite disruption to competitions, travel and stadium use, Inhulets continued participating in the national league system.
