Asteras Tripolis FC Crest History
The first modern crest of Asteras Tripolis, introduced in 2009, reflected the club's rapid rise to the Greek Super League. The badge consisted of a blue circular emblem surrounding a large gold five-pointed star, a direct reference to the club's name, Asteras, which means "Star" in Greek. The words "Asteras Tripolis Football Club" encircled the star, while the club's traditional blue and yellow colours represented its identity. The minimalist design established a strong and easily recognisable brand during Asteras' emergence as one of Greece's leading clubs.
In 2020, Asteras Tripolis unveiled a more detailed crest inspired by the history and heritage of the Arcadia region. The circular badge was replaced by a shield featuring the legendary Theodoros Kolokotronis, the hero of the Greek War of Independence, mounted on horseback with his sword raised. A gold star appeared above the shield, once again referencing the club's name, while the years 19 and 31 on either side highlighted the club's founding year, 1931. Across the bottom of the shield, the Latin motto "Et in Arcadia Ego" ("Even in Arcadia, I exist") emphasised the club's deep connection to Arcadia and its cultural heritage. The words "Asteras Tripolis F.C." surrounded the emblem, combining historical symbolism with a modern design.

Asteras Tripolis FC Club History
Founded in 1931, Asteras Tripolis Football Club was established in the city of Tripoli, the capital of the Arcadia region in the Peloponnese. The club's name, Asteras ("Star"), reflected its ambition from the outset. Although the original club experienced periods of inactivity during the mid-20th century, it was refounded in 1978, beginning the modern era that would eventually transform Asteras into one of Greece's leading provincial clubs.
For many years, Asteras competed in the local and regional divisions of Greek football before beginning a remarkable rise through the league system in the early 2000s. Backed by presidents Giorgos Borovilos and Dimitris Bakos, the club achieved three consecutive promotions between 2004 and 2007, climbing from the fourth tier to the Greek Super League in just three seasons. The achievement was one of the fastest ascents in modern Greek football.
Asteras quickly established itself in the top flight, becoming one of the most consistent clubs outside Greece's traditional "Big Four." In 2012–13, the club reached the Greek Cup Final for the first time, narrowly losing to Olympiacos after extra time. Despite the defeat, the cup run marked a historic milestone and secured Asteras' place among Greece's leading clubs.
The club also became a regular participant in European competition. Asteras made its UEFA Europa League debut in 2013, reaching the group stage for the first time in 2014–15. During that campaign, the club achieved memorable victories over Partizan Belgrade and APOEL, while earning a creditable draw against Tottenham Hotspur. European qualification became a regular feature throughout the 2010s, reflecting the club's remarkable sporting progress.
Asteras has also built a strong reputation for developing talented players and attracting promising footballers from Greece and abroad. The club has served as an important stepping stone for numerous players who later moved to larger European clubs, while maintaining a philosophy based on stability, sensible recruitment, and attacking football.
Asteras Tripolis' principal rivalry is with Panachaiki in the Peloponnesian Derby, while matches against Kalamata FC and Panargiakos also carry regional significance.
