Name: Glasgow Rangers FC

Founded: 1872
Stadium: Ibrox (Glasgow)
Capacity: 50,817
Club History: Rangers Football Club, established in 1872 by four friends passionate about football, has grown into one of the most iconic clubs in the world. Rooted in Glasgow’s history, Rangers overcame challenges and cemented their place as a powerhouse in Scottish football. In 2012, financial difficulties saw Rangers relegated to the fourth division. However, this setback became an opportunity for a world record: 49,118 fans attended a match, showcasing unwavering support. By 2016, Rangers had climbed back to the top division, proving their resilience. Rangers’ early supporters were primarily workers from Glasgow’s shipyards and the city’s Protestant community. This identity fueled their historic rivalry with Celtic, rooted in cultural and religious differences. The “Old Firm” derby, with over 400 matches played, is one of football’s most storied rivalries. However, moments of unity have also defined their history, such as the 1971 benefit match after the tragic Ibrox disaster.
Crest: Rangers are unique in using two logos simultaneously. Corporate Logo: Designed for media, merchandise, and official use, this emblem features a red lion, a blue soccer ball, and the club’s name encircled with the motto “Ready.” Primary Logo: Displayed on players’ kits, this emblem underwent several redesigns, evolving from intertwined letters to the iconic “Rampant Lion” symbol, rooted in Scotland’s heritage. The monogram “RFC” with a ribbon and the motto “Ready” was one of the first logos. In 1968 a red lion, representing Scottish pride, appeared over a blue soccer ball. Redesigned in 1997, the lion logo became sleeker, with lighter blue shades and bolder typography. The corporate logo remains a refined version of this classic design. With a history spanning over a century, Rangers symbolize resilience, tradition, and passion. Whether through their legendary comebacks or their unity during challenging times, Rangers continue to inspire fans worldwide.
