FC Fleury 91 Crest History
The original crest of US Fleury-Mérogis, used from 1970, reflected the club's traditional identity before its modern rebranding. The emblem featured a black-and-white football at its centre, flanked by two red lions supporting the ball beneath a crown. A scroll below displayed the club's historic motto, "À cœur vaillant, rien d'impossible" ("To a valiant heart, nothing is impossible"), a phrase that remains closely associated with the club today. The lions symbolised courage and determination, while the overall design resembled a traditional coat of arms.
In 2015, following the club's rebranding as Football Club Fleury 91, a completely new hexagonal crest was introduced. The historic crown, football, lions, and club motto were all retained, but presented in a cleaner, more modern composition. The shield adopted the club's red and black colours, while the word "Fleury" became the dominant feature across the lower half of the badge, with 91 at the base representing the Essonne department, whose official French department code is 91. This redesign successfully modernised the club's identity while preserving its traditional symbols.
In 2017, after adopting the name FC Fleury 91 Cœur d'Essonne, the crest received a minor update. The overall shield remained unchanged, but "Fleury" was replaced by the initials FCF91, while the words "Cœur d'Essonne" were added beneath to emphasise the club's role as a representative of the wider Essonne area. The crown, lions, football and motto continued to form the core of the club's visual identity.
Another refinement followed in 2019 when the club standardised its name back to FC Fleury 91. The FCF91 initials were replaced with the wording "FC Fleury", while the reference to Cœur d'Essonne was removed. Apart from these textual changes, the shield retained its familiar composition, preserving the crown, football, lions, club motto and the departmental number 91.
In 2023, FC Fleury 91 introduced its current crest, adopting a cleaner and more contemporary interpretation of the club's identity. The badge retained the hexagonal shield but replaced the central football with a large red lion, making the animal the club's primary symbol. The club name now appears as "Fleury Essonne" across the top, while a stylised FC monogram sits at the base of the shield. The historic crown remains above the name, maintaining a visual link with previous crests.

FC Fleury 91 Club History
Founded in 1991, Football Club Fleury 91 traces its roots to US Fleury-Mérogis, a local club established in 1970. The modern club was formed following a restructuring of football in Fleury-Mérogis and spent many years competing in the regional divisions of the Paris Île-de-France league. Built on strong community values and youth development, the club gradually established itself as one of the leading amateur sides in the Essonne department.
The club enjoyed steady progress throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, earning promotion through the French football pyramid. In 2015, US Fleury-Mérogis officially became FC Fleury 91, marking the beginning of a new era with renewed sporting ambitions and a modern club identity. The rebranding was accompanied by increased investment in infrastructure, coaching and youth development, helping Fleury establish itself as a competitive force in the national divisions.
During the late 2010s, FC Fleury 91 became a regular contender in the Championnat National 2, consistently challenging for promotion. After several near misses, the club finally achieved its biggest success to date by winning its National 2 group in 2024–25, securing promotion to the Championnat National (France's third tier) for the first time in its history. The achievement marked a significant milestone for one of the country's fastest-rising community clubs.
Alongside the men's team, FC Fleury 91 has earned national recognition through its ambitious youth programme and particularly its women's section, which has become one of France's strongest teams in recent years. The club's continued investment in player development and facilities has strengthened its reputation as an important football institution within the Essonne department, despite operating with comparatively modest resources.
FC Fleury 91's main local rival is Sainte-Geneviève Sports, with meetings between the two Essonne clubs forming one of the department's most competitive regional derbies. Fixtures against FC 93 Bobigny and US Créteil-Lusitanos have also grown in importance through frequent encounters in the national divisions.
