FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem Crest History

In 2006, following the club's renaming from MFK Ústí nad Labem to FK Ústí nad Labem, a new crest was introduced that reflected the club's traditional identity. The badge featured a classic shield in the club's blue-and-white colours with vertical stripes, the initials FK, the full club name and a football in the lower right corner. The simple design reflected the club's long-standing colours and accompanied FK Ústí nad Labem through one of the most successful periods in its history, including promotion to the Czech First League in 2010, victory in the 2011–12 Czech National Football League, and numerous seasons as one of the country's leading second-tier clubs.

In 2023, after investment company VIAGEM acquired the club, it was renamed FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem and unveiled a completely new visual identity. The traditional shield was replaced by a tall, minimalist emblem dominated by the initials UNL, representing Ústí nad Labem, with the VIAGEM name positioned above and a stylised diamond symbol below. According to the club, the redesign formed part of a comprehensive rebranding intended to modernise the club's image while strengthening its connection with the city. 

FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem Club History

Founded in 1945 as SK Ústí nad Labem, FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem was established shortly after the Second World War as organised football returned to the city. The club quickly became the leading team in the Ústí nad Labem region, earning promotion through the regional divisions before reaching the Czechoslovak First League for the first time in 1952. Although the debut top-flight campaign lasted only a single season, it marked the beginning of a proud football tradition in the city. A second promotion followed in 1958–59, when the club, then competing as Spartak Ústí nad Labem, again spent one season among the country's elite.

Throughout the following decades, the club became widely known by the nickname Arma, reflecting its long association with the Armaturka engineering works. Competing under various names including Spartak Ústí nad Labem and FK GGS Arma Ústí nad Labem, the club spent much of the communist era alternating between the second and third tiers of Czechoslovak football. A serious setback came in 1989–90, when disciplinary sanctions and financial problems resulted in relegation from the second division, forcing the club to rebuild from the regional leagues.

The revival began during the 1990s, but financial difficulties again threatened the club's existence. After withdrawing from the 1997–98 Czech Second League, the original organisation effectively collapsed. Football in the city was preserved through a merger with FK NRC Všebořice, creating a new club that gradually climbed back through the Czech league system. Two consecutive promotions in 2003 and 2004 returned Ústí nad Labem to professional football, laying the foundations for another successful era.

Under coach Svatopluk Habanec, the club achieved one of the greatest moments in its history by winning the 2009–10 Czech National Football League and securing promotion to the Czech First League after more than fifty years away from the top flight. Because the Městský stadion did not meet league requirements, the club was forced to play its home matches in nearby Teplice during the 2010–11 season. Despite several memorable performances, including competitive matches against the country's biggest clubs, Ústí was relegated after a single season.

The club responded impressively by winning the 2011–12 Czech National Football League, but was denied promotion because its stadium failed to satisfy the Czech Football Association's licensing criteria. Despite earning promotion on the pitch, Ústí remained in the second division, a decision that proved a significant setback to the club's ambitions. 

A new chapter began in 2023 when investment group VIAGEM acquired the club, leading to its renaming as FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem and the introduction of a modern visual identity. The new ownership announced ambitious plans to restore the club to the Czech First League and strengthen football throughout the Ústí region while preserving the historic Arma tradition that has defined the club for generations.

FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem's principal rivalry is with nearby FK Teplice in the North Bohemian Derby, reflecting the long-standing sporting competition between the region's two largest cities. The club also shares local rivalries with FK Jablonec and FC Slovan Liberec, while matches against Děčín and other clubs from the Ústí Region have traditionally attracted strong local interest.
