How to get to the Stadium
Via Train
Glasgow Central Station then take a ScotRail train towards the Cathcart Circle/Mount Florida line. You don’t need a special service, just check the departure boards for trains stopping at the closest stations below. Mount Florida, the closest station, about a 5-minute walk to the stadium area. King’s Park, another option slightly further away (about 5–10 minutes on foot). Walk to the ground – from either station follow local streets (typically Aikenhead Road/Somerville Drive) to Hampden Park / Lesser Hampden, usually easy to find with signage and crowds on matchday
By Car
From Glasgow City Centre head south on the A77 or A749 towards Mount Florida. Follow signs for Hampden Park. Turn onto Aikenhead Road, then into Letherby Drive. The stadium is clearly signposted once you’re close. No large on-site car park for supporters. Parking is usually on-street in the surrounding residential area.

Before and After the Match
The Montford (Aikenhead Road). The definitive pre-match pub for Queen’s Park supporters. Sitting right across from Hampden Park and only a short walk from Lesser Hampden, The Montford is steeped in football history. Expect a mixed but friendly crowd on matchdays, plenty of football chat, and a relaxed, traditional atmosphere that suits Queen’s Park’s understated character.
The Clockwork Bar (Cathcart Road). A popular and welcoming local with a strong football crowd on matchdays. Around a 10–15 minute walk from the stadium, The Clockwork offers real ales, good food, and a comfortable pre-match setting. A solid choice if you want something lively without being hectic.
McKeever’s Bar (Cathcart Road). A classic Southside pub that comes alive on football days. Known for its warm welcome and no-frills charm, McKeever’s attracts a mix of locals and supporters heading to Lesser Hampden. It’s well placed for those arriving by train via Mount Florida or King’s Park.
The Old Smiddy (Cathcart Road). A larger venue with plenty of space, TVs, and food options. Slightly more modern in feel, The Old Smiddy is ideal for groups or fans looking to eat before kick-off. About a 15-minute walk to the ground, it’s a dependable pre-match base.
The Allison Arms (Pollokshaws Road). A renowned whisky pub with a loyal local following. While quieter than some matchday spots, it’s popular with supporters who prefer a slower build-up and a quality pint. Around 15–20 minutes on foot, it’s a favourite for those avoiding the busiest routes.
The Hampden Bar (Somerville Drive area). A traditional neighbourhood pub closely associated with football events at Hampden. Expect a relaxed, community feel and familiar faces on Queen’s Park matchdays. Conveniently placed for a short walk to Lesser Hampden.
The New Cathcart Inn (Clarkston Road). A straightforward, friendly pub serving the local area. Often used as a meeting point for supporters arriving from the south side or by car, it offers a calm pre-match pint before the short walk to the stadium.
