The Ground

Almondvale Stadium, nestled in the heart of Livingston on Alderstone Road, stands as one of Scotland’s most distinctive modern football venues. Since opening in 1995, it has been the proud home of Livingston FC and a symbol of the town’s sporting identity. Purpose-built during a period of rapid growth for the club and the community, the stadium has grown into more than just a football ground, it’s a focal point for local pride, progress, and passion.

Though often affectionately referred to as the Tony Macaroni Arena in sponsorship terms, Almondvale remains known by fans and locals alike by its original name, a nod to its deep roots in the Livingston area. With a capacity of around 9,500, the stadium combines the intimacy of a close-knit atmosphere with the infrastructure of a professional arena. Four enclosed stands surround the pitch, offering excellent sightlines and shelter, ensuring supporters are close to the action in all conditions.

Set within Livingston’s Almondvale district, the stadium benefits from its central location, surrounded by shops, cafes, and the nearby Livingston Designer Outlet. It’s easily accessible by road and public transport, with on-site parking and rail links from Edinburgh and Glasgow making it a convenient destination for supporters across Scotland.

Around the Stadium

Before and After the Match

The Lime Kiln (Dedridge). Just a short walk from Almondvale Stadium, this large, family-friendly pub is a go-to spot for Livingston fans on matchdays. Serving hearty pub food and a good range of beers, it’s ideal for groups or families looking for a pre-match meal or a relaxed pint afterwards.

The Livingston Inn (Kirkton North). A traditional coaching inn turned cosy pub, about five minutes’ drive from the ground. It offers a warm welcome, classic Scottish fare, and local ales — perfect for those wanting something with a touch of history before kick-off.

The Paragon (Almondvale Boulevard). Set near The Centre shopping complex, The Paragon is a modern bar and restaurant popular with both home and away supporters. With big screens showing football, quick service, and plenty of seating, it’s a convenient and lively spot before heading across to the stadium.

Deer Park Beefeater (Deer Park Avenue). Located just off the M8, this is a good option for travelling fans arriving by car. With a large menu, parking, and easy access to Almondvale via a short drive, it’s a practical choice for pre- or post-match dining.

The Newyearfield (Howden). A friendly, no-nonsense local pub about a 15-minute walk from the ground. It’s popular with regulars and Livi fans who prefer a proper pint and match chat over formality, great atmosphere on game days.

The Chain Runner (Almondvale Crescent). Sitting close to the stadium, this Marston’s pub and hotel offers food, drinks, and accommodation all in one place. With outdoor seating and ample parking, it’s a top pick for supporters staying overnight or making a weekend of it.

The Livingston Designer Outlet (next to the stadium). For those who prefer coffee or a quick bite, the Outlet complex right beside Almondvale offers several cafés and restaurants — including Starbucks, Costa, Nando’s, and Wagamama — all just a few minutes’ walk from the turnstiles.

Almondvale Stadium is set within Livingston’s busy retail and leisure district rather than a traditional pub-lined high street, so match-going fans often gather at the nearby pubs, restaurants, or cafés before walking across to the ground.
