The Ground
London Road Stadium, located just south of Peterborough city centre in Cambridgeshire, has been the home of Peterborough United Football Club since the club’s formation in 1934. Steeped in history and tradition, the ground is one of the more iconic venues in lower-league English football, blending old-school charm with ongoing efforts to modernise.
While officially known as the Weston Homes Stadium due to sponsorship, most fans still refer to it by its historic name. London Road Stadium currently has a capacity of around 15,314 and features a mix of seated and standing areas. Though not the largest ground in League One, it retains a traditional football feel, with fans close to the pitch and an atmosphere that can be both intense and electric on matchdays.
The stadium is composed of four main stands, each with its own character. The Main (North) Stand houses club offices, hospitality suites, and media facilities. The London Road End (South Stand) remains a popular standing terrace, where some of the most vocal home supporters gather. The Motorpoint Stand (West) offers modern seating and improved facilities, while the Meerkat Family Stand (East) caters to families and younger fans with a more relaxed matchday environment.
Situated within walking distance of Peterborough’s main railway station and city centre, London Road is highly accessible for both home and travelling supporters. Its location provides a contrast to more remote, out-of-town grounds, allowing fans to enjoy the city’s amenities before and after games. Though proposals have occasionally been floated for significant redevelopment or even relocation, the club has remained rooted at London Road—balancing ambition with tradition.
