Liverpool FC Ground & Tickets

Ground: Anfield

Capacity: 61,274

Location: Anfield Road, Liverpool

Country: United Kingdom

The Ground

  • Anfield stands as one of the most historic and iconic football grounds in the world. Located in the heart of Liverpool, it has been the proud home of Liverpool Football Club since 1892, witnessing the rise of one of the most successful clubs in English and European football.

  • With a capacity of just over 61,000, Anfield offers an electrifying matchday experience that few stadiums can rival. From the world-famous Kop Stand, where generations of supporters have sung “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” to the modern Main Stand with its towering structure and state-of-the-art facilities, every corner of the ground embodies passion, tradition, and the enduring bond between the club and its fans.

  • Anfield’s design blends history with modernisation. Recent redevelopments, particularly the expansion of the Main Stand and the Anfield Road End, have increased capacity while preserving the intimacy and intensity that make the stadium unique. Every seat provides excellent views of the pitch, and when the crowd is in full voice, the atmosphere is recognised globally as one of the most powerful in sport.

  • Beyond the matches, Anfield also serves as a cultural and community hub. The Liverpool FC Museum showcases the club’s illustrious history, from domestic triumphs to six European Cups, while stadium tours allow visitors to walk through the players’ tunnel, sit in the dugout, and even stand on the Kop.

Official Tickets

  • Be an All Red Member, Essential for Access. Membership required: To buy most men’s match tickets, you must hold a Full, Light, or Junior All Red Membership. Membership registration is your entry point into ticketing. Priority access depends on loyalty: Having attended 13 or more matches last season typically guarantees priority ticket access. With 4–12 matches, you're entered into a ballot. Fewer than 4 matches may limit availability.

  • Official Match Breaks & Hospitality Packages. For a guaranteed experience, consider official hospitality packages that include match tickets, pre-match lounges, hospitality access, and more. SportsBreaks and Seat Loader are approved providers offering such packages (e.g., Code Lounge, Beat Lounge, Founders Lounge, Brodies Sports Bar). These are 100% official and can offer a more accessible route especially for high-demand matches.

  • Ticket Forwarding & Exchanges. Liverpool offers a Ticket Forwarding & Exchange Scheme, allowing you to transfer unused tickets to other members securely, an alternative to unauthorized resale.

  • Beware of fake tickets. Fraudsters often leverage social media and unofficial platforms, targeting high-demand games. Average losses have been £177 per victim, sometimes more

Around the Stadium

Before and After the Match

  • The Sandon (Oakfield Road) – Just a short walk from Anfield. This is the classic Liverpool supporters’ pub. Steeped in history, it’s famously where the club was founded in 1892. On matchdays it’s packed with home fans, serving beer, food, and a big helping of atmosphere.

  • The Park Pub (Walton Breck Road) – Directly opposite the Kop, this pub is always heaving before and after games. Known for its lively atmosphere and quick-serve pints, it’s one of the most popular gathering spots for Reds supporters.

  • The Twelfth Man (Walton Breck Road), just a stone’s throw from the stadium. It’s slightly less hectic than The Park but still buzzing on matchdays, with TV screens and plenty of room for groups.

  • The Flat Iron (Walton Breck Road). A 10-minute walk from Anfield. A traditional pub with a strong local following, offering a more relaxed environment than the immediate stadium-side bars.

  • Taggy’s Bar (Taggy’s Lounge)(Anfield Road), close to the stadium. Known for its no-frills style and matchday intensity, this one is always full of Reds fans, with singing and chants setting the tone before kick-off.

  • The Arkles (Anfield Road), about a 5-minute walk from the stadium. A long-standing away fans’ favourite, it welcomes visiting supporters, has plenty of screens, and serves food and drinks at decent prices.

  • The Glenbuck Hotel (Walton Breck Road)– A 5-minute walk down Walton Breck Road, recently revamped and paying tribute to Liverpool legend Bill Shankly (born in Glenbuck, Scotland). A good mix of heritage and modern bar style, it’s a great stop for fans looking to soak in LFC history with a pint.

  • The Thomas Frost (Wetherspoons, Walton Road). Around a 15-minute walk from Anfield, this large Wetherspoons is ideal for bigger groups and those looking for cheaper food and drink before heading towards the stadium.
