The Ground

  • Coventry Building Society Arena, located in the northern outskirts of Coventry, West Midlands, has been the home of Coventry City Football Club since 2005. A modern, multi-purpose venue, it stands as a key landmark in the region, combining contemporary facilities with the passion of a traditional football club.

  • The stadium officially opened in August 2005, replacing the club’s long-standing home at Highfield Road. Originally known as the Ricoh Arena, it was built to provide Coventry City with a larger, more modern home and to serve as a hub for sports, entertainment, and events. Its design features sweeping stands with excellent sightlines, wide concourses, and a bowl-like structure that creates an impressive matchday atmosphere.

  • Today, the Coventry Building Society Arena is owned by Frasers Group and has an all-seated capacity of around 32,600. Alongside football, it regularly hosts rugby, concerts, exhibitions, and conferences, reflecting its role as a versatile community and commercial venue.

  • Situated about three miles north of Coventry city centre, the stadium is well connected by road and public transport, with Coventry Arena railway station just a short walk away. On matchdays, it becomes a focal point for Sky Blues supporters, who fill its stands with noise and colour. The complex also houses a hotel, casino, restaurants, and retail units, making it more than just a football ground.
