The Ground
Villa Park, located in the Aston district of Birmingham, has been the home of Aston Villa Football Club since 1897. One of the most famous and historic stadiums in English football, it has hosted everything from FA Cup semi-finals to World Cup matches, and remains a symbol of the club’s proud tradition.
The ground’s history spans well over a century, with numerous redevelopments shaping its current form. Villa Park today is an all-seater stadium with a capacity of around 42,640, combining classic architectural features with modern facilities.
Each of its four stands has its own character: the Holte End, one of the largest single-tier stands in Europe, is famed for its passionate home support; the Trinity Road Stand houses executive boxes, hospitality areas, and media facilities; the Doug Ellis Stand offers excellent views along the pitch; and the North Stand accommodates both home and away fans.
Villa Park’s city location makes it well-connected for visitors. Aston and Witton railway stations are within a short walk, providing easy links to Birmingham New Street and the wider national rail network. The ground is also close to the M6 motorway, making it accessible by car, and Birmingham city centre — with its range of hotels, bars, and restaurants — is only a couple of miles away.
